Miriam Smith

Miriam is an artist based in the city of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. Showing a preference for watercolour, she creates vibrant and expressive paintings of the beautiful landscape, powerful seas and ever-changing weather of the Highlands. Miriam has work in private collections in Australia, America, and Europe.

 'I love the fluidity and freshness of watercolour, the sheer challenge of its' unpredictability. I paint spontaneously, using these inherent qualities rather than trying to restrain them, my aim, to achieve colours that sing and paintings that are full of life and the natural beauty of  the Highland environment.'
