Miriam Smith

Miriam is a self-taught artist based in the city of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. Showing a preference for watercolour, she creates vibrant and expressive paintings of the beautiful landscape, powerful seas and ever-changing weather of the Highlands. Miriam has work in private collections in Australia, America and Belgium as well as here in Britain.

 'I love the fluidity and freshness of watercolour, the sheer challenge of its' unpredictability. I try to capture the colour, shape and movement of the Highland environment in my paintings and to this end use a spontaneous approach.'
