Welcome to my Website!

Rugged coastlines with quirky seabirds, Trees that drip emerald greens or dazzling oranges, tiny, yet bold, wildflowers that dot the roadside, these are a few of the subjects that inspire me the most. It is my good fortune, that here in the Highlands of Scotland there is no shortage of such things, ok yes, the weather can sometimes leave something to be desired but hey, the ever-changing light just adds drama to the painting!

I work in a variety of media but love watercolour for its fluidity, freshness and challenging unpredictability. I paint spontaneously, using these inherent qualities rather than trying to restrain them, resulting, I hope, in a lively and flowing painting. Textile is also a wonderful medium, there is such a wide variety of colour, texture and technique that each piece of work is full of exciting possibilities. My ultimate aim, is to achieve colours that sing and paintings that are full of the natural beauty of the environment.

I am happy to accept commissions so please feel free to contact me for an informal chat, without obligation, or indeed if you have any questions regarding my work.
